Takacs Nikolas “Aka” Nico Ross, is a handsome and talented singer/songwriter from Slovakia, Hungary. Much like the late great Pop Icon Michael Jackson, Nico also started singing and performing at a very early age, entertaining his family in their living room by performing Funky Soul/R&B songs by Famous American Recording Artists by the tender age of just 3 years old. Realizing his true talent for singing, Nico entered and won the "Pop Arena Talent Spotter Contest" in Hungary and he has not looked back ever since.

 

After grammar school, Nico attended the Conservatory of Music in Bratislava, Hungary where he specialized in violin and classical vocal. Despite his success in classical music he felt that he really could develop his creativity more in the field of pop/soul/r&b music. From there, Nico tried out and was admitted into the Pop–Jazz Academy in Budapest, Hungary where he studied jazz vocal. He immediately attracted the attention of teachers and his peers at the school with his uncommon style of singing and a rich vocal tone. Nico was only 19 when the world-famous jazz drummer, Jávori Vilmos asked him to sing with him in his band, The Jávori Sound Machine. Afterwards he had the opportunity to play with other prominent Hungarian jazz artists such as, Babos Gyula, Tony Lakatos, Emilio, Charlie, Solti János, Csík Gusztáv and many others. Since then, Nico He has worked alongside Cypress Hill, Mary J. Blidge, Mariah Carey, Usher, 50 Cent, and Kool and the Gang.

 

Nico was a featured performer on the Hungarian version of the X-Factor TV Show which he achieved 2nd Place honors during his season on the program. After the season ended an X-Factor album was produced and released on every contestant. Nico's CD was the only project by the X-Factor Contestants to reach the triple platinum rank in sales. In 2011, Nico released his very first concert DVD and the newest single, A Zene Kísér majd az Úton (Music will lead you), is rising on the hungarian radio charts. After the success of the DVD and the new single, Nico embarked on a national tour, selling out wherever he went. The talented young man's career has begun to spread outside of Hungary into Portugal where he performed an emotional duet called "Where is the Love", with the famous portuguese singer Aurea. Nico has continued his career progress with new a hit song called "A Boldogság Te vagy-Our"(Love is all we need,Open your Eyes) and sold-out concerts. Nico has also established a long-term collaboration with the "Fool Moon Acapella band". The result of the joint venture is the "Music and Soul album", which has achieved over 20,000 downloads so far and a national tour. In 2015 Nico will score another hit with the song and video, "Never Ever" on GVR Records. The new Hungarian Language single, entitled "Rád Hangoltam" (Lovin life) has just been released. The song is the main theme of a daily TV series on Hungarian TV and is already on the top of the radio charts. The Nico Ross Star continues to grow and climb and everyday he is reaching higher and higher for his dream of international stardom.
